Small lively pub which was very crowded at the time of visit due to a rugby international on TV. Nice choice of seafood like prawns and interesting mirrors and painting on the walls. Evening Standard pub of the year in 2000 which might explain why it's a little expensive, but a good choice of beers. Best visited weekday lunchtimes.

John 8/10 visit Mar 2008

Distinctive narrow pub. 50% of the pub is devoted to food . Very expensive seafood menu. Seafood platter for 2 £45. Tiny kitchen right in the bar and was Evening Standard pub of the year recently. The toilets are downstairs - good photo gallery on the way. The landlord and clientele looked Eastern Mediterranean and when the food was cooking the smoke filled the place. We could have been transported to somewhere on mainland Europe!

Stuart 9/10 visit May 2001

Still the same. The pub specialises in oysters and Guinness. A pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord was £4.90, making it the most expensive pint I have had in London recently.

John 8/10 visit January 2016

Still expensive; my pint of Timothy Taylor Pouters Porter was £5.20, but the beer is still good. Free vinyl jukebox makes up for the prices a little!

Pub in Paddington station. Modern neon front. Inside two contrasting drinking areas. The non-smoking area has a wood-panelled ceiling, nice carpet, prints and wooden chairs. A little like a Wetherspoons pub. The smoking area has a wooden floor, high chairs, mirrors, a big chandelier which gives out a lot of light, and a impressive ceiling. Good introduction for people from the West Country ( and from the Heathrow Express ) to Fullers beers. Fullers London Pride was £3.65 a pint.

John 9/10 visit Sept 2012

Very handy Fullers outlet situated in the new glass building at the back of the platforms. Although modern it has a good range of beers on tap and screens on which to watch the arrivals and departures. Plenty of seating but often busy.

Stuart 8/10 visit March 2002

Still the same. A good choice of well-kept beers. Pub was winner of the Fullers master cellar man of the year for 2014, thanks to one Helen Wilson! London pride was £4.15 a pint.

John 9/10 visit March 2015

One of the better London station pubs. A pint of London Pride was £4.40.

Fullers pub with a impressive white frontage, which stands out from a distance. Inside it is smaller than it looks, but there is a theatre bar upstairs. Various paintings of Queen Victoria are on the wall. About a 10 minute walk from Paddington station. Fullers pub of the year 2007/2008. A pint of London Pride was £3.65.

John 9/10 visit March 2013

Still the same. There are 5 Fullers beers on handpump here. A pint of London Pride was £4.05 a pint. Usually a good pint in this pub.

John 8.5/10 visit May 2015

Looks like the pub has had a makeover on the outside since my last visit. Still a nice pub. A pint of London Pride was  £4.30.

Brew pub on Acton High Street. This pub is more traditional and atmospheric than the Aeronaut. Wooden panelled walls, slated floor, wooden tables and chairs make this a cosy place. The bar is at the back of the pub, where the brewery  also is. The beer I had was the 2 O Clock Ordinary which was good; it was £3.70 a pint. Good beer, good pub.

John 9/10 visit October 2014

Laines brew pub, there are 4 real ales on handpump, but none from the brewery behind the bar! Nice comfortable pub. A pint of Harbour Cornish Bitter was £4.00. Opens 1600 hours Monday to Friday.

Large ex Fullers pub which is now owned by Wetherspoons, at a busy road junction. Originally two pubs occupied this site, hence the name. Décor is the modern Wetherspoon format, red and white walls, green ceiling and some local history on the walls. Beer patio at the rear, as well as a lot of flowers at the front. Guest beers are £1.59.

John 8/10 visit Mar 2008

Recently refurbished in a very tasteful way, which is sophisticated yet retains a friendly atmosphere. Quiz night in the lounge, but public bar very nice with New Zealand and Australia posters and magazines. Playing ' Wind of Change ' on the jukebox.

Sue 8.5/10 visit July 1992

Nice relaxing Wetherspoons pub at the time of visit. Friendly bar staff and locals. Like the old photos of Acton High Street on the walls. Wetherspoons beer festival beers are £1.95 a pint, guest beers are £1.99 a pint outside of the festival ,making this good value.

John 8.5/10 visit October 2014

Good Spoons at a busy road junction. The 3 regular real ales and 6 guest ales show real ale is a good seller here. Good atmosphere. A pint of Orkney Dark Island was £2.15.

Worth a try

Aeronaut, 264 High Street, London W3 9BH. Former Aussie pub now a brew Laines pub.  Six beers from the brewery behind the bar are on handpumps.  I had a half of IPA and a half of Best at £4. Beers above average, but nothing special. Visited October 2014. This pub had a bad fire at Xmas 2016 and will be out of action for most of 2017. Now reopened but no longer a brew pub. November 2017.

Riverside pub which is perfect for a summer's evening even if it does get a little crowded. Nice wood panelling around the bar area, red ceiling and old prints around the wall. Towards the river are some nice conservatories which look out onto the footpath and the River Thames. Friendly bar service and a small non-smoking area. Beer was excellent. London Pride was £3.65 a pint.

John 9.5/10 visit Nov 2012

Old favourite which is still the same, apart from there being less carpet and more wood on the floor! I had London Pride at £4.05 a pint.

John 9/10 visit December 2015

Nice Fullers riverside pub. Oliver’s Island is opposite the pub, so it is appropriate that the beer is on in this pub. A pint of London Pride was £4.40.

John 9/10 visit May 2018

I do not award a 10 lightly ( cue Bo Derek jokes, John ) this is the first in 5 passports! This pub is one which I have visited many times and always left feeling happy and relaxed. It is lovely in the summer, when you can sit in the conservatory area or on the patio by the Thames, or in the winter when you can sit in the rear part of the pub ( which is well decorated and very comfortable ) or the 'downstairs' conservatory adjoining the river. Today there is a flood tide and the water is covering the bank at an alarming rate! There is always something new at this pub and it fulfils all I could wish!

A Fullers pub at the Acton Lane junction of the High Road. The traditional frontage of the pub is impressive, and the inside of the pub is attractive too with interconnecting bars, ornate woodwork, mirrors and stained glass.

John 8.5/10 visit Feb 2005

Friendly, light and sunny pub with lots of window space. Dark wood furniture and red upholstery. Mirrors mounted on the side of the ceiling! Stained glass emblem of Pack Horse. Fake plants, though. But pleasant enough pub. John won £25 beer voucher in raffle which added to good atmosphere of pub!

Sue 8/10 visit Aug 1992

This pub has a impressive traditional frontage with nice etched-glass windows of a pack horse. Inside is a little more gastro-pub- like the fireplace, but the pub still has a traditional feel. Good range of 6 Fullers beers on draught plus one guest beer, there are also some good international bottled beers on the menu. The food here is Thai. London Pride is £3.50 a pint. This is still a good pub.

John 9/10 visit Nov 2012

Still the same. This time on the other side of the pub and found a nice comfortable chair. A pint of ESB was £4.10.

John 8.5/10 visit December 2015

Whilst the outside of this pub is traditional, inside is a little gastro pub; but the pub still maintains its ‘pubby’ atmosphere. Good bar staff who engage with their regulars. A pint of London Pride is £4.05.

John 8.5/10 visit May 2017

Worth a try

Italian Job, 13 Devonshire Road, London W4 2EU. What a good name for an Italian beer place! The UKs first Italian craft beer pub. There are 10 taps serving Italian craft beer,  the beer is served in ½ and 2/3 of a pint. I had Free Ride West Coast IPA at £2.95 a half pint. Visited December 2015. A half pint of Bi Bock Birrifico Italiano was £3.50 in May 2017.

Pub opposite Ealing film studios. Full of people coming in for a quiet pint of well-kept beer; place has a cosy intimate atmosphere. If you are bored you can always look at the pictures of the TV stars ( mainly from 60s shows ) who appeared at the studios. The pub has now expanded about the back, in recent years. The pub as the same character, just more room. As well as more Ealing studios memorabilia. Great pub.

John 9.5/10 visit March 2013

Whilst this is a very interesting pub, with strong links to the Ealing studios and photos on the walls of old stars and a 'stage 6' sign outside suggesting this link, the pub is too small and although on this occasion we were able to get a seat, I remember many times when it was very crowded. Used it in 'Passport to Pimlico', my favourite Ealing comedy. Pretty bar area, but really just too small for my liking.

Sue 7.5/10 visit Nov 1998

First visit to the beer garden on a nice sunny day. London Pride was £3.90 a pint.

John 9/10 visit July 2015

Pizza is the food here now, as this place is now run by the pizza place next door. Still a good choice of beers. A pint of London Pride was £4.00, cheaper than the other Ealing Fullers pub.

John 9/10 visit Sept 2017

Pub in a quite cul-de-sac near St Mary's church, pub has a almost rural feel to it despite being off the busy St Mary's Road. Pub is now a one bar pub, with a nicely done out lounge, which leads to a conservatory and on to a large beer garden. Reasonably priced food menu. Well hidden pub, well worth finding. London Pride was £3.50 a pint.

John 8.5/10 visit March 2013

This pub was a much-loved local in the 1980s and I always like to visit. A new conservatory area has now been added, with wicker chairs and pretty flowered drapes. Plants suspect fakes, I fear! Interior of the pub still the same. Cosy and welcoming, with stained glass windows and dark wood. Disliked piped music- a bad addition- I'm sure it wasn't there before. But, overall, still a very mouse-like pub!

Sue 9/10 visit March 1998

Still the same. Good pint of London Pride at £3.80 a pint.

John 8.5/10 visit July 2015

This pub is off a side road opposite an old church, which gives it a semi-rural feel. Also there are flower baskets at the front and a beer garden at the back, which adds to the pub. A pint of London Pride was £4.15.

John 8.5/10 visit Sept 2017

Worth a try

Sir Michael Balcon, 46-47 The Mall, London W5 3TJ. Wetherspoons pub just at the start of  Ealing Broadway. This a quiet haven from the noise outside. Guest beers were £2.09 a pint in March 2013. Revisited in July 2015, guest beers are £2.35 a pint. In Sept 20017 a pint of Lidstone Ein- Stein was £2.29 as were all the guest beers, but the beer menu is showing £2.49 a pint. Either way, good value!.

Castle Inn, 36 St Mary’s Road, London W5 5EU. Fullers pub which is between the Red Lion and the Rose and Crown and is well worth a stop off. London Pride was £3.50 a pint. Revisited in July 2015 had a pint of London Pride, but did not get the price? In Sept 2017 a pint of London Pride was £4.15, there were 3 Fullers beers on handpump, but no ESB.

A back-street local which is not too easy to find. Fullers have spent a fair bit refurbishing this pub and they've done a good job. A cosy relaxing pub, with a Thai restaurant and some well kept beer.

John 8/10 visit Jan 2004

Back-street local which has been converted at great expense into a very pleasant pub. Interesting table with wheel and treadle like a sewing machine! Pictures rather attractive. General comfortable feeling to it!

Sue 8/10 visit Aug 1992

Was Michael Jackson’s local, so it is good to see they’ve still got his favourite Fullers beer on; Chiswick Bitter. More gastro pub than back street local now, but a good relaxing atmosphere. London Pride was £3.90 a pint.

John 8.5/10 visit October 2014

Still a nice back street local. A pint of London Pride was £4.00; now the cheapest Fullers in Hammersmith.

Magnificent old riverside pub built in 1795. Pub has the atmosphere of a smugglers inn on the South West coast. There's only a small terrace overlooking the River Thames and Hammersmith Bridge; if you can't get a seat then admire the inside of the pub. The pub is small and can get crowded in the evening - the best time to visit is between 15-00 and 17-00 hours on a weekday. I find this pub very bewitching; I can never have just one pint here and wind up staying a lot longer. A personal favourite. Fullers London Pride was £3.45 a pint.

John 10/10 visit Aug 2011

I don't know if I love or hate this pub! I do hate it when it's crowded like tonight! But I remember happier times in the past when it has been more peaceful and I've looked at the moon shining on the river. The pub is full of memories. Oh, I don’t know!

Sue 9/10 visit Aug 1996

Brilliant Thames-side pub which is steeped in history. Go down a narrow alley to get to it. Inside it's really cosy with a small front and side bar and a larger room to the rear. On warm day, sit outside on the patio and watch the rowers slide past. No serious London drinker should miss this one. It does great food. The interior has not been modernised and it probably looked like this during the war! I remember the war NOT!

Stuart 10/10 visit March 2003

Still a classic pub. London Pride was £3.95 a pint.

Pub near where the Grand Union Canal and River Brent meet. The pub is at the end of a quiet road giving it a village-like feel. Traditional décor inside with a quite relaxing atmosphere. A nice beer garden on the side of the pub. A little out of the way, but worth the effort.

John 9/10 visit May 2008

Still the same. The pub and the area have a village- like feel; might be because there are no nearby main roads or bus routes. Not quite a canal- side pub!  I had a Timothy Taylor Landlord at £3.90 a pint.

A canal-side Fullers pub, just inside the W9 postcode and close to Westbourne Park tube station. Whilst a Fullers pub, only 1 of the 5 handpumps is a Fullers beer, no mainstream kegs with most of them being Fullers or other London breweries. Standard gastro-pub décor with the canal side garden not being used on a cold winter’s day. Friendly bar staff happy to give samples; had a pint of Five Points Pale at £4.20.

Large pub which was formerly a hotel, which has an impressive white 'gothic' front. Has separate drinking areas which are all different from one another including a members games room and a theatre downstairs; also has a good beer garden at the rear of the pub. Near West Ealing Station, off the busy Uxbridge Road.

John 8.5/10 visit May 2008

Still the same. Large multi-room pub, locally known as Dracula’s Castle for its outside gothic design. Old photos of the area on the wall. Close to West Ealing station. Friendly atmosphere and staff, as well as a good pint of London Pride at £3.90 a pint.

John 9/10 visit Oct 2015

No more sport on TV in the lounge side, now more gastro, but the pub has always been upmarket. Stuck behind 2 people who seem to be in competition to have the longest drink order, such is life! A pint of London Pride was £4.05.

John 8/10 visit February 2017

The building is lovely, eccentric, with the 'gothic-looking' towers one finds in this part of Ealing. I have down-marked a little because of the dingy interior - this pub has not been touched since I last came in here many years ago, and the clientele seems to have 'gone down' a little. Lighting needs improvement, but stills has lots of character.

Pub off the busy High Street, down a cul-de-sac close the Grand Union Canal. The pub is in a quiet location. Inside the décor is green, with low white ceiling and fake beams and a separate pool room. Quiz nights on a Monday, and also live jazz. Beer expensive, must be the yuppies in the riverside apartments!

John 8/10 visit June 2008

This pub overlooks a 'rough' stretch of the river at the back, with a little bridge. I like this pub, although it isn't beautiful. Got talking to a fellow passporter who reminded me of number two in 'The Prisoner'! Great CD jukebox - played house music! Décor excellent in lounge bar with patterned upholstery and attractive panelling. Liked this pub very much-even the public bar where we watched the rugby was great!

Sue 8/10 visit Feb 1993

Landmark pub by Kew Bridge, with nice traditional frontage which states it is a Ale and Cider House. The 10 handpumps on the bar testify to this claim, with lots of choice on the handpumps. I had Southwark LBA at £3.80 a pint. Inside the décor is traditional and cosy, but there is sport on the TV. Nearest pub to Brentford’s new ground?

Brentford football club's claim to fame is that it’s the only league ground in the country with a pub on every corner of the ground. The Griffin is one of these pubs. It’s a small pub with red carpet, white ceiling, and white etched wallpaper, and gets busy on match days, but creates a good atmosphere. Excellent pub frontage. No ESB on last visit, but Pride in good nick. Beer expensive.

John 8/10 visit June 2008

Liked this pub, apart from TV in lounge, which dominated the atmosphere! Beautiful long Fullers brewery mirrors and dark wood panelling, with lots of pretty pictures. Bar pretty, with stained glass panels above. Friendly Irish landlord.

Sue 8/10 visit Feb 1992

One of four pubs on corner of Griffin Park. Wonder if this pub will still be here when Brentford move to Kew Bridge: it is a small pub. A pint of London Pride was £3.85.

Pub done out in 1980s décor of red seating, white ceiling and black fake beams. It still has the old Watneys signs outside. Various beer memorabilia around the place, as well as a lifebuoy and a bottomless boat hanging from the ceiling. Beer was excellent. CD jukebox playing oldies. Unimpressive décor, impressive choice of beer. Hogs Back Bitter was £2.60.

As said before the décor is bland, we are only here for the good beer! Good choice of beer on handpump, from some of the UK best up and coming breweries. The Burning Sky Plateau was £3.50 a pint.

Canal-side pub on a industrial estate. Changed from a Fullers pub to a Fullers English Inns chain pub in about 2000, with a downstairs extension added to it at the same time. Lots of different drinking areas, but mainly done out in a modern wooden style. Downstairs bar leads to a big beer garden by the side of the canal, which is popular with families. Pub used to serve the beers from a sparkler; now they don't which is a great improvement.

Large mock Tudor pub close to Kingston Bridge, which has changed a lot since the 1990s. Now done out in a country hotel bar style with atmosphere to match. White walls, red carpet, and fireplace ( not used ) add to the country feel.

John 8/10 visit July 2005

Remembered this pub from a previous non-passport visit. Barbecue bar in the car-park area with 'tropical look' seats. Inside, seemed just right for this time of year, with warm autumnal colours in wallpaper and curtains, and dark wood furniture. Good use of glass panelled divider screens. This is a large pub, but each part of it has a different atmosphere. Nice stoneware jugs over door. A very comfortable atmosphere generally- would be very happy to go back again.

Have been in this pub many times. Now it has been refurbished. A very large pub with (fake ) beams, stained glass and wood dividers. Eating area well concealed and tasteful. Pretty dried flower arrangements and patterned curtains, as well as nice divided-off sections. You can still feel private even though it is a very large pub. Lively, happy atmosphere.

Sue 9/10 visit Dec 1992

A Fullers English Inn on the way down to Heathrow Airport. Décor is in a modern style, with fake beams, old whisky and beer posters and a dimly-lit atmosphere. Pub is big on food ( which is severed all day ) , but there is still room for a dart board. Benches out the front for the summer.

Used to work fairly near this pub a long time ago, when it was a two bar pub. Has changed a fair bit but it is still a nice pub. Low ceiling and dim lighting gives the pub a cosy feel, along with the fireplace. Glass cabinets with bottles of miniatures and beer bottles around the walls, and pictures on the ceiling of photos, maps and posters ( for if you get legless later on! ) are added attractions, as well as a riverside patio.

John 8.5/10 visit April 2005

Refurbished since I went in here years ago, when John worked nearby. Pretty exterior, by canal, and interior very attractive, with miniatures collection, lots of pictures and pottery, and photos of Isleworth in earlier years. Very spacious and lively atmosphere.

Micro pub in Ruislip high street with the standard micro pub décor. This is one of the best back-street locals I have visited. Only 1 minute walk off a side street from Teddington High Street, but this is a cosy pub with a cosy atmosphere. A friendly landlady and good banter from the locals at the bar makes you feel welcome. Pleasant décor with lots of beer memorabilia all around the pub. Clientele (mainly over 50) are feeding the digital jukebox. There are 4 real ales on, I had a good pint of Tillingbourne A.O.N.B  at £3.40. No food, but there is a cheese board on Sunday.

Greene King pub about 50 yards from the River Thames. The pub has a cosy atmosphere to it, with lots of different drinking areas. Low ceiling, various pictures, and low lighting all add to the character of this good pub. Outside drinking areas at the back and front of this pub. Big non-smoking area at the back of the pub. Well kept beer at the time of visit, real ale seems a big seller here.

Small Victorian green tiled pub with lots of hanging baskets outside, inside a lot of charm and character. This pub has some nice beams with a extended conservatory area at the back with a Thai restaurant. Also has comfy seats, old prints and bric-a-brac as well as a nice beer garden. An old pub overlooking cricket playing green with white washed walls and hanging baskets. Pub has been modernised, but still has a fair bit of character, low ceiling and some nice old beams. Lively and busy atmosphere around the place. Pub also has a large beer garden which attracts a lot of families and a extended conservatory area. Sports screens seem to be all around the pub. Food menu available all day.

John 8/10 visit June 2011

Pretty pub but a little crowded, with 'fuzzy' background music. The family room should be smaller, as it was virtually unused, and the pub needs more room. Nice stained glass windows and panels in the screen dividers. Nice warm feeling to the pub, with glowing red and brown colour schemes. Nice, but not, I think, with too much atmosphere.
